Each year WPCSS recognizes every teacher who sponsors student entries in National History Day with a limited Honorary membership.  Becoming a sponsor  is a major undertaking.  Teachers meet with the students involved offering advice and reminding them about sticking to the theme, following  guidelines  and meeting deadlines.  In addition they accompany the contestants on the weekend to the History Center competition where judging begins at 8:00 a.m. and continues through the award ceremony ending about 3:00 p.m.  There is no overtime for this commitment and  some teachers have multiple students involved. Many have been active supporters over a span of years.
